As we head towards the festive season, there is more opportunity to adopt Christmas marketing techniques. More and more often, we’ll see glistening TV adverts, sparkling lights and festive-inspired images, so why not incorporate the festive spirit within your Christmas Exhibition?

You can give your temporary walling for your Christmas exhibition a real festive flair, without taking away from the project or company you are marketing itself. Perhaps you will feature subtle fairy lights around the edge of your temporary walling display, or feature a small, well-decorated Christmas tree within the area of your exhibition stand.

That said, it is important to bear in mind not turn festive flair into festive frenzy and go totally overboard on the Christmas theme. After all, you want to look at enticing potential customers in, rather than sending them from Santa’s grotto onto the next exhibition stand.

Here’s a few ways of creating an effective, festive temporary wall display for a Christmas exhibition:

Christmas themed words and quotes

You may want to attach a Christmas themed quote, that works with your company of course, in large lettering on your temporary wall stand.

It is important that the letters are cut out precisely and separately, in order to have a sleek and professional design aesthetic.

You may opt to use metallic cardboard for the lettering, or white letters on a black background or and vice versa, or even adopt red, green and gold letters as traditional Christmas colours.

Why not consider using quotes such as: “Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling” (Edna Ferber) or “Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection” (Winston Churchill)? You may also want to use Christmas-inspired words like: “Mistletoe”, “Tinsel”, “Festive”, “Christmas lights”, “Reindeer”, “Gifts”, “Snow”, “Snowman” and more.

Stars and Snowflakes

Stars and snowflakes, can be made from high-quality paper and cardboard, and attached to your temporary walling display to add a touch of festivity to your exhibition.

Fairy Lights

A few fairy lights (as long as you don’t go overboard!) will add a touch of Christmas sparkle to your exhibition stand. We prefer clear fairly lights here at HLB Creative, since we feel that clear lights have a more sophisticated aesthetic than multi-coloured lights, although, in some cases multi-coloured fairy lights may be appropriate.

Whatever fairy lights you choose, it is important to make sure your exhibition is not drowned in fairy lights but simply glisten with a little festivity.

Stick to one Christmas-inspired theme

It is essential that you plan every aspect of your exhibition stand so that you avoid employees and co-workers bringing in Christmas decorations from home to add to the display.

Christmas decorations should ideally be bought with the exhibition in mind and with a clear colour or Christmas theme for your exhibition stand.

Travel companies, for example, may well follow a ‘Santa’s sleigh ride’ theme, while wine and catering companies may want to focus on the gourmet side of Christmas.
