National Exhibition Centre Atrium 4

Since the opening in 1976 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the NEC in Birmingham has been described as the ‘ultimate blank canvas’ and rightly so, with vast amounts of room for hire, it is the perfect location for any business wanting to show off their wares.

With 2.1 million visitors per year, you’d be crazy not to set up shop and sell your products at many of the exhibitions and shows that take place at the NEC every year. The NEC is growing at an impressive rate and hosts all kinds of events from sports to agriculture, some are B2B but a high proportion are consumer facing.

NEC Statistics And Other Information:

  • 20 halls with a total area of 200,000 square feet
  • Each hall varies in size, from 3700 to 25,000 square feet
  • All halls have toilet access
  • Food vendors located in most halls
  • Electrics, gas, water, and compressed air are provided from under floor ducts
  • Floor weight limit per square metre is 20 tonnes

Located next to Birmingham train station, and with superb road access, you will have no problem setting up as an exhibitor or attending.
Hiring temporary walling. You won’t have a problem with restrictions as the height limits far exceed the market standard of temporary walling, and neither will width.

Setting up gallery walling or exhibition walling around your plot will give it more of a shop feel, at 2.5 metres high and 1 metre wide, you can create a welcoming and professional retail environment on your stand.

Most exhibition plots at the NEC have 2 or 3 entrance points. Use this opportunity to create the most inviting space. Create a front and back entrance, or have 1 wall with a wide-open 180 degree entrance.

At Conex we recommend slat walls, as they are easily manageable and offer the most convenient way to hang and display products such as clothing and packaged goods.

By adjusting the sizes of each slat wall, you can create interesting patterns; add posters, banners and other artwork between or above the products creating a better retail experience. Remember, around 75% of people who attend exhibitions intend on buying products.

So with great utilities, excellent reputation, and the promise of thousands of visitors, the NEC is definitely a prime venue to consider when looking to exhibit your businesses product or service.

Conex have designed, built and installed temporary walling and exhibition stands at the NEC more times than we care to remember, so the next time you are planning to exhibit at the NEC, contact Conex the NEC experts.
