Exhibiting at One of the Main UK Exhibition Venues
The UK is home to some of the best exhibition venues in the world; Earls Court, Birmingham NEC and Kensington Olympia to name just a few.
Each exhibition centre has its own rules and regulations and its own yearly events calendar but in essence they all offer the same, which is a whole heap of wonderful opportunities for your business.
Put on a great exhibition, do it right and do it well and your business will benefit greatly.
The most important thing to get right is to set out your clear objectives and desired outcomes from the exhibition before investing any time and money. These objectives will have a great effect on the type of exhibition stand, the size, the intricacies of design, the layout, position within the hall and the final budget.
Whatever your company objectives, here are a few golden ones that suit any type of business:
Attract potential customers to your exhibition stand, and therefore your brand
Get your brand in front of your target customers. It’s a no brainer. Don’t make your exhibition stand look the same as every other exhibitor in the hall. Work with the budget to create a custom built exhibition stand using exhibition walling and accessories such as furniture, lighting and AV solutions to create the perfect custom built exhibition for your brand, giving it the representation and exposure it deserves. Birmingham NEC, Kensington Olympia, Earls Court, ExCel and G-Mex Centre, these venues are all huge! Make sure you use temporary exhibition walling with all the features necessary to give your exhibition the edge.
Present your brand/products
Products are so much more irresistible when we can see them and touch them. Lay them out beautifully. Make it impossible not to want one. If your company is a service, use the exhibition to sell the service and deliver the right brand message to your potential clients. Give your brand the professional clean cut image it deserves. Or any other type of look for that matter. Your exhibition stand is your shop floor, so make sure you work it.
Build Relationships
Face to face is always best. Build relationships with potential customers, distributors, suppliers and anyone in the same industry as you because you never know when you may be able to help each other.
Nosey at your Competitors
Make sure your exhibition stand has cover and then take many a moment to wander through the exhibition centre to see what your competitors are up to. Not only with their products, but also their stand. Is it attracting lots of interest? Does it look super slick? Are they using any techniques that you hadn’t thought of?
Which exhibition venue should you choose to exhibit in?
There are many websites listing every exhibition in the UK. If you have an exhibition in mind, ask the organisers for last year’s exhibitor’s list and attendance records and speak to individual exhibitors to find out their experiences and if they generated a good return on investment. Hunt out comments and reviews. Find out if the people attending the exhibition were there to spend some money or just to have a lovely day out.
Check how long the show has been going, it’s relevance to the products or services that you offer and also consider the promotion that the event receives.
Then decide on the exhibition stand itself and how you are going to make it look great. Exhibition walling is used for creating the shell of the exhibition stand or exhibition booth since they create solid robust walls. Since we have had years of experience working with the UK’s main exhibition venues, our exhibition walls also meet the requirements of all the venues such as The NEC, Excel and Olympia, which is that they must be at least 2.5m tall and fire retardant.
Once you have decided on the shell size, then you can get creative and add the accessories such as lockable doors, plasma panels and stand lighting, plinths, flooring and illuminated furniture.
